liveable green network - harbour to the bay

The City’s Liveable Green Network is a safe and attractive walking and cycling network across the City’s streets, parks and open spaces.

The network will link Activity Hubs, villages and main streets and be made up of lanes and main streets.

The streets and lanes will have pedestrian and cycling priority through traffic calming and will be densely planted with trees.

Harbour to the Bay would be designed as a safe, 12.6 kilometre section of the green network extending from Glebe’s foreshore parks, through Newtown, the Australian Technology Park, Alexandra Canal, Rosebery and beyond to Botany Bay.

Roadways would provide safe, simple and connected bike paths that are shady and attractive, with the stretch along Alexandra Canal forming a waterside park.
