Buses
Accessible Sydney buses will display the international wheelchair symbol. Ramps are extended and the suspension is lowered to help you board. Priority seating and spaces are made available. Accessible buses are fitted with brighter handrails and better lighting and have wider doors. There are accessible bells as well as an emergency alarm if you require assistance from the driver or other travellers.
Accessible bus stops around the city have been plotted on this map. As all buses are not accessible, intending passengers should contact the Transport Infoline on 131500 or www.131500.com.au to check which services are accessible.
Monorail
The monorail operates everyday running every 3-5 minutes linking the city to Darling Harbour and providing easy access to other tourist attractions like the Entertainment Centre and Powerhouse Museum.
All monorail trains are accessible and carriages are equipped with ample space to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Good access to all stations is in place. Tickets can be purchased at all stations and the trains run till late.

Taxis
Taxis can be hailed from the street or engaged at designated taxi ranks. Secure ranks (operating on Friday and Saturday nights) are plotted on this map along with the locations of fixed ranks. Supervision operates Friday night until 5:00am and Saturday night until 2:00am.
Under the Taxi Transport subsidy scheme people with a disability who carry a NSW or interstate subsidy voucher or card are entitled to a subsidy in Sydney. There is no “lift” fee applicable in NSW. Kerb ramps have been provided at 10 key taxi ranks to assist access into rear loading taxis.

Trains
CityRail is currently developing a network of Easy Access Stations featuring lifts, ramps and hearing loops at booking offices to make communication easier.
Those stations featuring all or some of those access facilities are denoted with a special symbol which is a train with a star beside it. The brochure Welcome to CityRail lists the facilities at all stations. More information is available on website www.cityrail.info/facilities/accessing.jsp.
