Contra-flow no lane

Contra-flow no lane

Contra-flow cycleway no lane A contra flow bike lane allows bicycle riders to travel in the opposite direction to traffic in a lane on the side of the road, and with traffic in an existing lane shared with cars and other vehicles.

This allows bicycle riders to travel in both directions on streets that are one-way for motor vehicles. A contra-flow lane improves safety for bicycle riders travelling in the opposite direction to vehicles by providing them with a dedicated space on the road.

In a contra-flow cycleway no lane, the one-way bicycle lane is demarcated by the use of bicycle logos only. Traffic and bicycles can still travel in the traffic lane as per usual.
