Separated cycleway bend out intersection

Separated cycleway bend out intersection

Separated cycleway bend out intersectionAt some intersections the separated cycleway will bend out, away from the road, to create a separate, bicycle priority crossing.

The distance between the bicycle crossing and the main intersection allows a turning vehicle to stop out of the flow of traffic before giving way at the bicycle crossing, and allows a vehicle approaching the intersection the space to store at the intersection after crossing the cycleway.

This makes it easier for drivers and safer for bicycles.
