Health Carer Parking Permit

The City of Sydney has introduced a Health Carer Visitor Parking Scheme which will assist eligible residents in need of ongoing home-based health care by exempting health carers from certain parking restrictions.
The permit will allow health carers who are visiting eligible residents to have their vehicles exempted from the time limited parking restrictions as well as parking meter fees in resident/permit holders parking areas in a particular precinct. The permit will be issued to the resident who can then give it to their health carer to display in their vehicle for the duration of the visit.
Who is Eligible?
The permit is available to eligible residents in the City East, City South and CBD areas. In other City of Sydney areas, residents can apply for a Visitor Permit which can be used for health carer visits.
To be eligible, residents must provide a letter from an appropriate Area Health Service or the Department of Ageing, Disability & Home Care verifying they are in need of long-term health care. The letter must also list all the vehicles used to provide health care services for the applicant, including the registration numbers of those vehicles.
A health carer is defined as a person recognised by an appropriate Sydney Area Health Service providing home based long term health care services for a continuous period of three months or more.
