In 2006/07 Strategic Economics assisted City of Sydney staff in preparing an Economic Development Framework. The Framework focuses on the issues that will underlie strategies for economic development across the City. This includes analysis of the elements of the urban economy and factors driving change, the role of the Council in economic development and possible principles, goals and strategic directions.
Sydney's City Centre is a hub of cultural, tourism, business and retail intensity. The Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Harbour and the night skyline are iconic and its villages provide continuing delight and surprise for visitors who take the time to explore a little further afield.
The City of Sydney works in partnership with tourism bodies, businesses, tourism operators and organisations and the education sector to help build on Sydney's strong tourism attraction.
