Partner, DeaconsKevin Hobgood-Brown is the Chairman of the Australia China Business Council and is a Partner in the Sydney office of the law firm Deacons. He is a frequent speaker on the Chinese legal system and on doing business in Asia and manages the international operations of Deacons Australia and a member of the Deacons International Board.
Kevin is a member of the steering committee of the Attorney General’s China Working Group, in connection with Australia’s free trade agreement discussions with China. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the China Research Centre of the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a board member of the Australia China Council of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Kevin has 24 years of experience in assisting international companies establish operations throughout the Asian region, seven of those years spent living in China. He has advised on projects in almost every industry sector and in every part of China. Kevin taught commercial law courses at Beijing University Law Department from 1983 to 1987 and was the managing partner of his law firm's Beijing office in the mid 1990s. He was the founding partner of his firm’s Taipei office in 1992.
