Xiao Hailiang is a two time Olympic diving champion. At the Sydney Olympics, Hailiang and his diving partner Xiong Ni, won the Gold Medal for China in the 3m springboard synchronised diving ahead of Australians Robert Newbery and Dean Pullar who took bronze.
In August 2007 Hailiang was appointed as an Ambassador for Business Club Australia (BCA), Austrade's business networking program based around major international sporting events. With the Beijing Olympic Games just months away BCA is focused on creating new business connections for Australian companies. Hailiang is an outstanding example of how connections made through sport can lead to exciting new business opportunities.

Hailiang has spoken on behalf of BCA at two functions to date: at the Austrade/Shanghai AustCham Mission to Wuhan in November and at the AustCham Olympic Panel in Beijing in December 2007.
