Business Grants & Sponsorship
Commercial Creative Events Sponsorship Program
The City recognises that major creative events contribute to Sydney’s economy and its cultural life. Value in kind support is available to secure new events for Sydney or to grow and develop existing event. Closing date: ongoing.
Finegrain Business Development Matching Grant Program
The City seeks to encourage new businesses that will add vitality and activity in the laneways and finegrain spaces of Central Sydney. Matched funding up to $30,000 is available for eligible applicants. Closing date: ongoing.
Village Business Partnership Grant Program
The City seeks to stimulate local business and economic activity in the City’s village centres, improving employment opportunities and supporting local retail, commercial and professional services. Grants of up to $80,000 are available for eligible not-for-profit business associations. Closing date: ongoing.
Redfern Shopfront Improvement Matching Grant Program
The City recognises that roller shutters detract from the vibrancy and appeal of commercial village centres and seeks to encourage building owners or tenants to remove roller shutters. Matched funding of up to $3,000 is available for eligible applicants. Closing date: ongoing.

Accommodation Grants Program
City of Sydney assists not-for-profit groups and community organisations with business accommodation for the provision of services, programs and projects to meet community needs. Closed
Community Services Grants Program
Grants over $5,000 are awarded to not-for-profit organisations based in, or providing services or projects of benefit to the City of Sydney community. Applications close: 6pm Monday 16 April 2012.
Cultural Grants and Sponsorships Program
The City of Sydney encourages and supports cultural development through grants and sponsorship support for major and smaller cultural events and organisations. Applications close: 6pm Monday 16 April 2012.
Environmental Grants Program
Grants are awarded to not-for-profit organisations based in, or providing environmental services or projects of benefit to the City of Sydney community. Applications close: 6pm Monday 16 April 2012.
Heritage Grants Program
The City of Sydney provides support for not-for-profit land owners of heritage sites and buildings to undertake new conservation work which, without the financial assistance of the City, may not be able to occur. Applications close: 6pm Monday 16 April 2012.
History Publication Sponsorship Program
The History Publication Sponsorship Program assists with the costs of publications that are considered relevant to the ongoing research into and recording of the history of the City of Sydney. Closing date: ongoing.
Local Community Grants Program
The City offers grants to not-for-profit community organisations for projects, events, activities, services and resources that help build strong, healthy and vibrant local communities. This is a bi-annual program. Applications close: 6pm Monday 16 April 2012.
Matching Grants Program
Do you have an idea to improve your neighbourhood? The Matching Grants Program supports community initiatives with matched funding up to $10,000. All you need is a great idea and a group of willing participants, and you could apply for a Matching Grant. Closing date: ongoing.
