The Sydney, City of Villages Art Exhibition and Prize

"Distant Lights, Balmain, Darling Street" Fiona Greenhill, winner 2008 Sydney, City of Villages Art Prize.

The City of Sydney and Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, in partnership with JCDecaux, are proud to support local artists with the fourth Sydney, City of Villages Art Exhibition and Prize.

The Sydney, City of Villages Prize of $3,000 will be awarded for the work judged most outstanding in the exhibition as decided by a panel of judges. 

All Australian artists working in the mediums of painting, printmaking and drawing were invited to submit for the Sydney, City of Villages Art Exhibition. Submissions have now closed and judging will be taking place shortly.

The ten finalists’ images will be reproduced onto outdoor posters to be used in JCDecaux illuminated poster sites throughout the City of Sydney from Tuesday 14 July – Monday 10 August.

The exhibition will also be on display at the Pine Street Creative Arts Centre from Tuesday 14 July – Monday 3 August 2009.
