The Sydney, City of Villages Art Exhibition and Prize

Crossing Sheppard Street Andrew Purvis Sydney, City of Villages Art Prize.

The City of Sydney and Pine Street Creative Arts Centre, in partnership with JCDecaux, are proud to support local artists with the third Sydney, City of Villages ArtExhibition and Prize.

All Australian artists working in the mediums of painting, printmaking and drawing were invited to submit to Sydney, City of Villages. The tenfinalists’ images have been reproduced onto outdoor posters to be used in JCDecaux illuminated poster sites throughout the City of Sydney from 15 July – 4 August.  The exhibition will also be on display at the Pine Street Creative Arts Centre from 15 July – 26 July.

The Sydney, City of Villages Prize of $3,000 will be awarded for the work judged most outstanding by the distinguished panel of judges comprised of Deborah Edwards (Senior Curator, Australian Art, Art Gallery of New South Wales), Jane Watters (Director, S.H. Ervin Gallery) and Lindy Lee (renowned Australian artist).

  • Hiske Weijers of Erskineville, Redfern Fruit Shop
