Integrated Planning and Reporting

A new mandatory integrated planning and reporting framework for local government has been introduced by the NSW State Government to replace the former Management Plan requirements of the Local Government Act 1993.

The City of Sydney has adopted strategic and corporate plans to meet the new statutory framework following public exhibition of the draft plans in May - June 2011.

The plans are:

  • Community Strategic Plan (2011) - is an update of the City of Sydney’s adopted vision and long term plan Sustainable Sydney 2030. The plan identifies the community’s vision and main priorities and sets strategies for achieving those goals.
  • Resourcing Strategy (2011) – identifies how the City’s resources - financial, workforce and asset management - will be used to achieve the goals set in the Community Strategic Plan.
  • Corporate Plan 2012 - 2015 – sets out a four-year program of major activities and financial estimates to implement the strategies established by the Community Strategic Plan.
  • Operational Plan 2011/12 – sets out projects and programs to be undertaken over the next 12 months and details the annual budget, rates model and fees & charges.
