Draft Amendment to South Sydney Development Control Plan 1997: Urban Design – Part G Special Precinct No. 7 – Ashmore Precinct
Please Note: the exhibition period for this item has now closed.
Ashmore Precinct is a 17.4-hectare site in Erskineville bounded by Ashmore Street, Mitchell Road, Coulson Street and the Bankstown rail line.
A site-specific Development Control Plan (DCP) for the Ashmore Estate was adopted in 2006.
The City is now publicly exhibiting the Draft Amendment to South Sydney Development Control Plan 1997: Urban Design – Part G Special Precinct No. 7 – Ashmore Precinct. This features the controls originally endorsed by Council and is in accordance with Part 3 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000.
The Draft Amendment to the DCP seeks to update the planning controls and includes changes to floor space ratios, building heights, the public domain and car parking rates.
The Draft Amendment reflects the City’s proposed controls for the sites at 57 Ashmore Street and 165–175 Mitchell Road. They do not reflect the planning controls that were required by the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure for the public exhibition of the City Plan held early in 2011.
