Draft Local Approvals Policy for the Distribution of Handbills (and associated structures) 2007
Please Note: the exhibition period for this item has now closed.
The City of Sydney has prepared a Draft Local Approvals Policy for the Distribution of Handbills (and associated structures) 2007 (Draft LAP) which aims to minimise the regulation of small-scale printed matter on public streets by permitting the distribution of ‘handbills’, where complying with the stipulated criteria, without the need to first obtain approval. The Draft LAP is required to implement the intended approval process for the distribution of handbills as described in the adopted City of Sydney Policy for the Distribution of Printed Matter and Other Material on Footways.
The Draft LAP was prepared in conjunction with a series of draft policies for activities on footways. These policies were previously exhibited as Discussion Papers addressing the distribution of printed matter, the display of goods and restaurant seating on footways.
The City of Sydney Policy for the Distribution of Printed Matter and Other Material on Footways, which relates to a broader range of distribution activities that require approval, was adopted by Council on 27 August 2007 and is not part of this exhibition. Issues related to the display of goods and restaurant seating on footways are yet to be resolved and are not part of this exhibition.
