Public Exhibition: Draft Southern Industrial Area Land Use and Urban Design Study

The City of Sydney has recently undertaken a draft Southern Industrial Area Land Use and Urban Design Study (draft SIA Study) to inform the development of the planning controls for the consolidated City Plan Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan.

The draft SIA Study reviews the existing land use and built form controls, and makes recommendations for land use, transport and access, retail development, and built form controls. It includes an examination of land use demands, planning controls and development applications that have shaped the area. State and local policies and directions, including the State Government’s Metropolitan Strategy and the City of Sydney Sustainable Sydney 2030 are also considered.

Following this exhibition and consideration of public submissions, the recommendations of the draft SIA Study will be incorporated into the new City Plan Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan where appropriate. You will be able to comment on the new City Plan when it is placed on public exhibition in the future.
