Interim Waste Strategy

Please Note: the exhibition period for this item has now closed.

The Interim Waste Strategy establishes the framework for the comprehensive management of waste in the City.

It aims to reduce waste, maximise resource recovery, find solutions for hazardous material, reduce greenhouse gas emission, provide cleaner streets and integrate waste, water and energy infrastructure. It also outlines the steps the City of Sydney is taking to meet its target for diverting 66 per cent of domestic waste from landfill by 2014.

You are invited to have your say on the consultation draft of the Interim Waste Strategy that marks the beginning of an extensive planning and consultation process to develop a Final Waste Strategy.
