Annie Kennedy - Camp Stonewall
Annie Kennedy - Camp Stonewall
CAMP STONEWALL is a meeting place. It synthesises local and international history celebrating the achievements of gay rights campaigning. Juxtaposed with the historical men’s urinal where men met secretly and out of sight, this artwork recognises homosexuality now being in full view, and well integrated into our local community.
Interviews with gay activists, local residents, eminent Australian gay men as well as archival recordings, will be combined into an oral history of the Australian Gay Rights Campaign and reflect on the profound changes which have occurred since the 1970’s.
