Michael Lewarne -  Disco Horizon

Glossy black cube elevated subtly above the pavement; a gently rowdy sentinel to the diurnal rhythms of the bustling strip’s pastpresentfuture.

Within the cube a beat rises and pops: “four on the floor”, a woven mix of retro and dance floor classics. The observer is drawn in, uplifted, intrigued. Syncopated flashes of light leak from the cracks in the fabric of the cube, pressing the observer in for a more intimate viewing. The interior is revealed through the fissures, tiny misshapen disco floors scattered with nets of diffuse droplets of light and spontaneous sharp sheets of brilliance. They are filled with joyful presence.
