CBD Streetscape Upgrade
Project Overview
Sydney City is Australia’s largest central business district, with a daily population of more than 600,000 people. The qualities that make the city a popular place to live, work, or visit are underpinned by the City of Sydney’s commitment to delivering a program of high quality public domain improvements.
Through a coordinated and ongoing program of street upgrades, the City strives to maintain and enhance the amenity of city-life for residents and visitors.
The ongoing streetscape projects build on works undertaken in the lead up to the 2000 Olympics by providing progressive and long-term improvements that meet the needs of the city’s future.
Projects were undertaken in stages, from 2005 through to 2009. The completed projects provide public benefit and link with streetscape work undertaken by the public and private sectors.
