Harris Street Upgrade
Harris St, Pyrmont.
Improvements to Harris Street are a vital part of our Pyrmont Village plan to provide pedestrian amenity and safety, traffic calming, better links to open space and public transport, and integration with cycling networks.
The Harris St – Pyrmont Village upgrade project between Miller Street and Pyrmont Bridge Road implemented urban design improvements to provide a more vibrant, active and safe public domain and celebrate Pyrmont’s heritage and historic sandstone buildings and help strengthen Harris Street’s role as the ‘village’ main street. The upgrade included:

- New Smartpole street lighting
- New decorative lighting
- New pocket park
- New sandstone street furniture
- A new east-bound right-turn lane at Pyrmont Bridge Road and Harris Street intersection.
The Ian Thorpe Aquatic Thopre Streetscape upgrade included:
- Installation of new paving to footpaths
- New bus bay for Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre
