Balfour Street Park
The recent closure of Balfour Street at O'Connor Street provides the opportunity to create a pocket park, linking Chippendale and the future development of the former Carlton United Breweries site.
Fitzroy Gardens and Lawrence Hargraves Reserve
From the Local Action Plan for City east, priority was given to refreshing the Fitzroy Gardens and Lawrence Hargraves area by creating more green space for rest and play.
Foley Park
Foley Park at the corner of Glebe Point Road and Bridge Road is the largest local park in the centre of Glebe.
Frog Hollow Reserve, Surry Hills
With input from the local community, the City plans to revitalise Frog Hollow Reserve by constructing a new street square at the corner of Albion and Riley Streets and a new entrance to the park.
Glebe Foreshore
The City is realising the long-held dream of the Glebe community for a continuous foreshore promenade around the Glebe Peninsula.
Hyde Park
The City of Sydney is in the process of saving historic Hyde Park from the effects of three virulent diseases which are attacking trees and soil throughout the park.
Larkin Street Park
Larkin Street Park will be upgraded to include a new circulation path, new turf, planting, shade trees and street trees. Larkin Street will receive minor streetscape works and the former Orphan School Creek will be interpreted within the park.
Orphan School Creek
Improvements to the Orphan School Creek landscape have been anticipated for a long time. The City of Sydney is committed to ensuring a coordinated approach to the design and completion of the landscaping projects, which are now able to proceed.
Prince Alfred Park
Prince Alfred Park, Surry Hills Prince Alfred Park is to be conserved and improved as a unique and significant place within the city’s public domain.
Redfern Park Upgrade
The City has allocated a budget of $19 million over three years to develop a quality recreation facility at Redfern Park.
Rushcutters Bay Park
The City of Sydney has developed a draft plan for an extensive upgrade of Rushcutters Bay Park, including restoration of the grandstand and improved pedestrian access.
Small Parks Upgrade
As part of the City’s on going park improvements program a number of parks have been chosen for a comprehensive upgrade.
Sydney Park, St Peters
Future works to the park will establish an improved park landscape of greater environment stability and with wider recreation opportunity.
Turruwul Park
The City is preparing a plan for the upgrade of Turruwul Park Rosebery. Turruwul Park is an important recreational resource.
Victoria Park Playground
The City plans to upgrade the playground to complement other high quality community facilities within the park. The aim is to retain Victoria Park’s character while inspiring the imagination of children of all ages and abilities through interesting and stimulating equipment and surrounds.
Walter Read and John Thomson Reserve
The Walter Read landscape upgrade will reopen a valuable public open space closed since the early 1990’s. The upgrade will increase local public open space in the area and celebrate the historical significant of the reservoir structure.
Water Police Site
The former Water Police Site is a 1.8 hectare site purchased by the City of Sydney to secure a continuous parkland around the Pyrmont peninsula.
Wentworth Park Sporting Complex Feasibility Study
The Feasibility Study looks at options for improving the landscape setting of the Wentworth Park Sporting Complex within Wentworth Park.
