Perry Park, Alexandria

The City of Sydney's Open Space Study and Recreational Needs Study (2007) identified the opportunity to develop Perry Park in Alexandria as an active sports precinct.

Perry Park covers 24,000 m2 and its location, 500 metres from the Green Square train station and next to the Bourke Road cycleway, positions the park perfectly to cater for future community needs.

The City’s feasibility study in 2008 looked at ways to improve the park and its recreational facilities.

The City has been undertaking a thorough design process including stakeholder and community meetings to consult with interested groups on the proposed plans for the park. This is the last phase of the design process which began in 2009.

The proposed designs will look at the potential for a new:

  • Synthetic multi-purpose sport field
  • Indoor multi-purpose recreation facility; and
  • General park improvements including new trees, landscaping and a children’s play area.

The City will continue to keep the community and interested groups informed as the design process progresses.
