Wentworth Park Stage 2 Works – Northern Perimeter Wall

Wentworth Park is situated on Crown Land and is one of the City’s oldest parks, dedicated in 1885. The City of Sydney and the Wentworth Park Sporting Complex Trust have been working together on a number of projects to improve the landscape setting of the sporting complex in Wentworth Park.

In May 2010 Council endorsed the concept design for the Stage 2 Upgrade of the northern wall of Wentworth Park.  Works focus on improving pedestrian access and views along the northern boundary of the Complex.

Upgrade works include:

  • Removal of unused buildings
  • Lowering of the boundary wall along the Complex's northern boundary
  • New entry stairs linking the Park and the Complex
  • New fencing and turf embankment (to match recent upgrades); and
  • Relocation of cricket nets.

A Development Application will be lodged in May 2011 with construction in late 2011.
