Interim Sydney Streets Design Code 2010

This Interim Code reviewed and updated the current Interim Sydney Streets Code 2006 to align with the City’s public domain vision outlined in Sustainable Sydney 2030. The Interim Code provides a focus on public domain quality, sustainability, pedestrian and cycle amenity and a respect for the distinctiveness of place.

The City’s current standard construction details and installation requirements for the materials palette and elements are currently being updated and will form an accompanying document to this Interim Code.

In addition a number of public domain furniture elements such as seats, bubblers, rubbish bins, bollards and pedestrian lights will be subject to a design and prototype development process in 2012 to allow specification and manufacture of new items to complement the existing City of Sydney suite of furniture.
