Napier Street, Paddington upgrade

The City of Sydney is proposing to improve the permanent road closure at the eastern end of Napier Street in Paddington.

In August last year, City staff door-knocked local residents and businesses to get their ideas for improving this space. Using that feedback, City staff have developed a concept plan, which proposes:

  • New seating to improve residents’ enjoyment of the area
  • Opportunities for temporary events so neighbours can get together
  • New garden areas and landscaping to beautify the space
  • Improved lighting, new paths and connections between Oxford, Selwyn and Napier Streets.

A community drop-in session at the eastern end of Napier Street was held on Saturday 11 February 2012 to give the community an opportunity to review the concept plan, and speak with the Lord Mayor and City staff.

City staff will use these comments to develop detailed designs for Council’s consideration. If Council endorses the detailed designs, we will place them on public exhibition for further community feedback.
