Background

City Plan Framework

The City Plan review was the umbrella program for reviewing existing controls and delivering a new comprehensive Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plan (DCP) and supporting information. Read the City Plan Framework to find out more about the context and rationale for the City Plan.

The City Plan review was informed by a number of projects, studies and research:

Previous Studies and Projects

Issues Based Projects
These projects focused on specific issues such as activities on footways, design excellence, affordable rentals and heritage.

Site Specific Projects
We did studies on particular sites or areas such as the Ashmore Street Precinct, the CBD, and the Southern Industrial Area study.

  • The draft plans were exhibited for 60 days in 2011 and over 1000 submissions were received and reviewed
  • Letters were sent to 105,800 ratepayers to advertise the exhibition and notices were placed in major daily newspapers
  • 15 meetings were held with community groups and 10 meetings with stakeholder groups
