There are a range of discounts, special deals, rebates and incentives to help you use less energy and save water.
The NSW Government and Federal Government offer a variety of rebates and packages including FREE Home Sustainability Assessments.

Green Start Program
In July 2010, changes were made to the Green Loans Program. The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency opened the Green Start Program to help you to install solar, water-saving, and energy-efficient products.

Solar hot water
The non-means tested package provides rebates on the cost of installing a solar hot water system. There is also help for renters, with up to $1,000 available to help landlords or tenants install ceiling insulation in rental properties.

Rainwater tanks and greywater
The National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative provides rebates of up to $500 for households to install rainwater tanks or greywater systems. There are also NSW Government rebates to help with the installation of rainwater tanks and water-saving systems.

Washing machine rebate
As part of Sydney Water’s washing machine rebate, you’ll receive $150 cash back when you purchase a 4.5 star water-efficient washing machine.
