Plants & Animals
Biodiversity refers to biological diversity in all forms of life including plant and animal species, as well as their genes and ecosystems.
European settlement and the subsequent urbanisation of our area has had a significant impact on its natural biodiversity.
Recognising this, the City is working to conserve and enhance our parks and streets to improve the health and diversity of flora and fauna.
Various programs are underway that deal with biodiversity issues in the LGA. The City's Environmental Grants program has funded valuable initiatives, such as the Blue Wren Habitat Conservation in Glebe/Forest Lodge project.
