Tree Donation Policy

The Tree Donation Policy has been developed to encourage and support community participation in the greening of Sydney.

The Policy outlines the donation process for tree planting in the City’s streets and parks. Five donation categories have been developed and the framework for tree location, tree selection, planting, tree maintenance and donor recognition has been detailed. The Policy is available for download.

The policy supports a collaborative approach between the City and the community by enabling tree donations and encouraging community involvement in the tree planting process. An application form is available for download.

This will increase the quantity and quality of the City’s urban forest, by ensuring that the environmental, social and financial benefits trees provide are maximised for the wider community. The policy also demonstrates the benefits of best practice tree planting in line with the Sustainable Sydney 2030 Strategy.

The City thanks the tree donors for helping green the City, and details of tree donations can be viewed below as an Excel spreadhseet.
