Waste

Cigarette Butts Collected Around the City of Sydney

Climate change, landfill levies and challenging State waste reduction targets – the environmental costs of waste are never far from the headlines. The City of Sydney recognises the important role that it plays when it comes to managing the impact that waste will have on the future of Sydney.

Today, we do much more than manage domestic waste collection and disposal. To increase the City’s recycling and resource recovery rates, we are taking an integrated approach to waste management that commits to reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and leading Sydney towards becoming sustainable.
