What's Zero Waste Partners?
Zero Waste Partners is a City of Sydney program that encourages businesses to AVOID, REUSE and RECYCLE their waste so we can all work together to keep the City clean and green.
With the help of businesses, the program aims to:
- Increase recycling
- Reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill
- Keep the Sydney’s streets & harbour clean by reducing litter and illegal dumping.
Zero Waste Partners are committed to keeping the workplace tidy and free of pollutants and also encouraging staff, customers, and tenants to be environmentally responsible.
The City is committed to supporting Partners by providing businesses with information, support, free resources and access to other sustainability networks.
How can Businesses be Involved?
- Sign up as a partner
- Ask about the City's free resources
- Find out how you can AVOID , REUSE and RECYCLE in your business
- Take action to prevent litter and pollution from your business or premises entering the stormwater system.
What's in it for Businesses?
- Support from the City through a range of educational resources
- Apply to get a FREE wall-mounted ashtray & stickers for your bins
- New ways to promote and publicise your businesses, by appealing to green customers
What happened to Clean Harbour Partners?
Clean Harbour Partners has been reinvented as Zero Waste Partners. After a review of Clean Harbour Partners, we found that although the program was great at addressing stormwater issues, we needed to expand the program so that current waste issues could also be addressed i.e how to recycle & reduce waste & illegal dumping.
Zero Waste Partners will still help businesses to reduce stormwater pollution, but it will also support businesses to manage their waste more sustainably, to recycle & will put them in touch with other environmental networks.
Existing Clean Harbour Partners will automatically become Zero Waste Partners. We will be in touch with existing partners soon to introduce the new look program to you.
