The Time of Our Lives delivered the most stunning Harbour Bridge Effect and fireworks display ever seen, watched by over one million people around the harbour and millions more around the world.

The Bridge Effect revealed itself as an hourglass at 8pm and continued to perform throughout the night with complex twists and turns before evolving into a mandala during the Midnight fireworks.

Heart of the Harbour formed the centrepiece for the 2005 Sydney New Year's Eve, transforming Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge as the focus point of the night's celebrations - seen by millions worldwide.

For 2004 the Sydney Harbour Bridge became the focus with internationally renowned sculpture Neil Dawson’s installation Reflections.

An extraordinary piece of sculpture suspended for one month to create light waves flitting between the Bridge and the water, which stirred a million reflections.

2003 saw Sydney become the City of Light. 16 Buildings around the CBD were lit up on NYE and stayed alight for 18 days in January with the centrepiece being the spectacular Harbour Bridge light show.

120 beacons of light bounced from the bridge to the water below to a fantastic pop music soundtrack.

1999 - 2002

In 2002 Sydney sent its message to the world with a breath-taking burst of fireworks, an animated dove and the word PEACE on the Sydney Harbour Bridge , capturing the theme for NYE 2002, Celebration in Unity.

2001
New Year’s Eve 2001 looked forward to the Year of the Outback, and towards the end of that year, with bushfires raging throughout NSW, and close to the City, we celebrated our courage and spirit in the face of adversity.

2000
In 2000 we celebrated the Centenary of Federation with 100 years as a Nation, millions of years as a land, as demonstrated by the images of the rainbow spirit and federation star on the Harbour Bridge.

1999
New Year's Eve 1999 celebrated the Millenium, and paid tribute to the city of Sydney, exemplified in the wonderful sea creatures on the harbour, and that unique Sydney icon, 'Eternity' on the bridge.
