- Participants must be over 16 years to enter
- Entries can be either by an individual or a group, however cannot be a corporation
- Entries must comply with the competition’s Conditions of Entry to be eligible
Privacy Statement
The information obtained by entering the Summer at the Flicks Competition will be used by administration staff at City of Sydney and all entrants will be added to the subscription lists for Green Village News. After processing, the information will be stored on City of Sydney’s files for the purposes indicated in the Conditions of Entry.
Conditions of Entry
- Information of how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry for the City of Summer at the Flicks Competition: Submission of a story/photograph in this Summer at the Flicks Competition is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
- The promoter of this Summer at the Flicks Competition is the Council of the City of Sydney (the "City") (ABN 22 636 550 790), 456 Kent Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (Promoter).
- Entry to the Summer at the Flicks Competition is open to any individual. Entrants under 16 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter. Employees and their immediate families of City of Sydney are ineligible to enter. An entrant must be a person or group and not a company or an organisation.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process, submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry or is engaged in any unlawful or other improper conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Summer at the Flicks Competition or the Promoter’s interests.
- Entry into the Summer at the Flicks Competition is free and entrants may enter multiple photographs in the Summer at the Flicks Competition.
- To enter, each entrant must:
(i) Email their entry to greenvillages@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au with details including full name, contact phone number and suburb.
(ii) If attaching a photo, entries will only be accepted in JPEG (.jpg) or TIFF (.tiff) digital formats and maximum file size of 5MB. Entries should be the best possible quality images and unzipped.
- By entering a photograph in the Summer at the Flicks Competition which includes images of people, each entrant warrants that such people have given their permission for their image to be included in the photograph and have agreed that the photograph (including their image) may be used by the organisations named and for the purposes specified in these Conditions of Entry.
- The Summer at the Flicks Competition closes at 9am EDST on Thursday 22nd December 2011. The prize winner will be notified at 5pm on Thursday 22nd December 2011. The prize winner’s name and the entries will be published by the City of Sydney in a subsequent Green Village News. This Summer at the Flicks Competition will be judged at the sole discretion of representatives of the Promoter and the judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- All entries must be original and the entrant’s own work. By entering the Summer at the Flicks Competition each entrant warrants that every photograph submitted by the entrant does not infringe the intellectual property rights of a third party and each entrant further warrants that they own all rights to the photograph submitted. Entries that infringe copyright are automatically disqualified from the Summer at the Flicks Competition. Each entrant indemnifies the Promoter against any costs that the Promoter may incur as the result of any copyright infringement from the breach of these warranties.
- The prize winner will receive season passes to Moonlight Cinema.
- The prize winner will be notified of their prize by phone. A courier will be arranged by the Promoter to deliver the prize to the winner at their specified address.
- Total Prize value is $5550 inclusive of GST.
- All travel costs associated with the redemption of the prize(s) by the Prize winner will be at the expense of the prize winner. All prize(s) are to be redeemed in Sydney.
- Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. No responsibility accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
- In the event that for any reason the prize winner does not claim the prize by 22 January 2012, then the prize is forfeited.
- All entries become the property of the Promoter.
- The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained as a result of participating in this promotion or by taking a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- By entering the Summer at the Flicks Competition each entrant grants to the Promoter an irrevocable non exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, display, broadcast or otherwise use the photographs in any form of media (print or web) for any promotional, marketing, publicity or research purposes of the Promoter or for any other purpose consistent with the Promoter’s functions, without payment to or attribution of the entrant.
- By entering a photograph in the Summer at the Flicks Competition which includes images of people, each entrant warrants that such people have given their permission for their image to be included in the photograph and have agreed that the photograph (including their image) may be used by the organisations named and for the purposes specified in Condition 18 of these Conditions of Entry.
- If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fraud, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information or for any fault in the equipment utilised in this Summer at the Flicks Competition which may result in error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
- The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion and award the prize. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant.
- Entrants’ personal information may be disclosed to the relevant State lottery department and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out below. The winner’s personal details may be released to public enquiries under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
