Located at the point of Darling Island, the open grass lawns of Ballaarat Park provide a serene scenic setting from which to view the maritime activities of Darling Harbour. The large central lawn area of nearby Metcalfe Park provides for informal active recreation and is a popular spot for outdoor fitness enthusiasts.

Ballaarat Park and Metcalfe Park are owned and managed by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.
