The best thing you can do to help Sydney become a Zero Waste community is to avoid and reduce unnecessary waste.

The City offers free workshops and seminars to help you reduce the amount of waste in your bin.

Compost & Worm Farming Workshops

The City offers free hands-on Compost & Worm Farming workshops to show you how to make the most of your compost bin or worm farm. If you are a City of Sydney resident, you can take home a free worm farm or compost bin at the end of each workshop.

Urban Sustainability Workshops

The City's Sunday workshops are part of the Urban Sustainability workshop series. Coordinated through The Watershed, other free workshops cover Waste Issues, No-dig Gardening, Natural Cleaning and Natural Baby Care, Energy Smart, Low Cost Enviro Tips and more. The Watershed also runs free workshops on worm farming.*

*Free worm farms and compost bins are not available with The Watershed worm farming only workshops.
