Before you start

Gifts and donations offered at the time councillors were a candidate for election must be declared.

Donations or gifts given to employees or approved contractors must also be disclosed.

Reportable donations and gifts need to be disclosed if they were given by:

  • the applicant or entity lodging an application
  • any person or entity with a financial interest in an application
  • any person or entity making a public comment about an application

Disclosing reportable donations and gifts covers the 2-year period before the application or comment was made, up until being determined by Council.

After you finish 

We're required to retain the gift and donation disclosure statements made by applicants and people lodging public feedback about applications.

The disclosures can be made available to the public after an access to information request has been made under the Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2009.
