Bike Maintenance for Beginners Course
The FREE Bike Maintenance course 'Commuter Essentials' is a great starting point for anyone interested in bike repairs and maintenance. The course aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to have a well-maintained bike that runs safely and reliably.
Most regular riders are surprised how much they learn and how much easier it makes riding and bike care.
All participants under 18 must attend with a legal guardian who is also enrolled.

Course duration: approximately 3 hours
Course size: maximum 8 people per course

- Tooling up: What do you need?
- Cleaning & lubrication the easy way
- Wheels off / Wheels on & Tyres off / Tyres on
- Introduction to cable systems
- Brakes and gear adjustments (where time allows)

The Bike Maintenance for Beginners course is run from the CARES Facility in Sydney Park. The CARES Facility is located on Sydney Park Road, close to the intersection of Mitchell and Sydney Park Roads. More information about the CARES Facility can be found on the course info page.

Parking
There is a public car park close to the intersection of Mitchell and Sydney Park Roads.
Public Transport
St Peters station (the Bankstown line) is a five minute ride on a shared path along the northern perimeter of Sydney Park.
