The City of Sydney is committed to the ongoing collection and permanent archiving of oral history interviews that record and reflect the diverse nature of its many communities. New projects will appear on this website as they become available.
Horses in Inner Sydney
From the time of European arrival until relatively recent decades, horses have been intrinsic to human endeavour of all kinds in Australia. This oral history project about inner Sydney celebrates the interdependence of horses and human beings.
Meals on Wheels
The Meals on Wheels Oral History Project commemorates fifty years of the service within the City of Sydney.
Surry Hills Library and Neigbourhood Centre
The old Surry Hills Library and Neighbourhood Centre Building was demolished in 2006. Nine people were interviewed for this project, to record the building’s relationship with the people of Surry Hills.
