Retail loss prevention & safety seminar
Designing out crime
5 April 2011
The City of Sydney hosted a free seminar to educate retailers about how to design out shoplifting; the rights of retailers; and procedures to manage and support staff. Keynote speaker Professor Lorraine Gamman, Professor in Design at the School of Graphic and Industrial Design, and Director of the Design Out Crime Centre at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design (University of the Arts, London) shared tips and information on new anti-shoplifting designs, particularly linked to the theft of products such as cosmetics, alcohol, women's wear, designer goods and small electronic items.
