Food premises, beauty salons and hairdressers, and other businesses whose activities are regulated by public health laws (below), must notify the City of Sydney if they:
- close down/stop trading
- move to new premises
- open another business
- sell to a new proprietor
- change their trading name.
Activities regulated by public health laws include:
- skin penetration (body piercers, tattooists, acupuncturists)
- shared accommodation (hotels, hostels)
- swimming (any business that has a public pool or spa).
To notify us, please use the change of ownership form below.
Submit the form to us using the details on the right. A City staff member may contact you if we require more information about your notification.
Please note that a fee is payable for some notifications.
Submit your completed change of ownership form to the City of Sydney by post or fax (details below).
You can also submit the form in person at the Kings Cross, Glebe, Green Square or Redfern Neighbourhood Service Centres or the One Stop Shop at Town Hall House.
