Letter to Santa Competition

Kids, get ready to tell us what you would REALLY like for Christmas this year - we're looking for your best messages to Santa! To register your message, email us on dearsanta@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au .

We will display selected messages on our website, and the winner of this competition will win the opportunity to help light the Christmas Tree at "Christmas On the Green" on 26 November 2009 in Hyde Park.

All entrants must have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions of entry .

Below is an excerpt from the winner of our 2008 Letter to Santa competition.

Dear Santa

thanks for reading my letter. we just had a pamphlet delivered 5 minutes ago. I really hope you can find our house, we are the house with the flashing lights on the balcony. I put them up last week.

I have also decorated the tree, and left you some candies hanging there, the little J shaped ones. J is for baby Jesus, dont forget him when you eat them, its his birthday. Mum says they are for you and I cant eat them. but be careful, take the plastic wrapper off them before you enjoy.

Now that I have practised on my tree at home I would love that my christmas present be to light the tree at the park !!! I have been trying my best to be well behaved. It was tough at school at first, but you can see I am a good boy now and Mrs Rorlach is really happy now. I hope you are happy too and I promise to keep trying to be a good listener and sit still. i have also been really good at little nippers because I really want to be a lifesaver to save the fish and whales and dolphins and mermaids
