Free Family Christmas Fun!
Alexandria Christmas Concert 2008
City of Sydney is delighted to host the free Village Christmas Concert series, a popular part of Our Christmas celebrations.
Four concerts will be staged over two weekends in a variety of locations (see below for venue details). Each concert will be hosted by audience favourites Johnny and Liesel and will feature fantastic entertainment for the whole family. Carol singing will be lead by the beautiful four part harmonies of a-capella group Sorelle. There will be live music at each venue, great kids’ entertainment and of course Santa bringing Christmas cheer to all.
Always popular is our kids’ art area where children can make Christmas decorations to take home.
Learn more about growing vegies with our Live Green School Garden display. Four primary schools have been cultivating gardens, supplied by City of Sydney, for a six week period. The schools’ gardens will be showcased at the Village Concerts and will provide information on growing a garden either at school or at home. Plunkett Street Public School garden will be displayed at Beare Park, Elizabeth Bay, Newtown North Public School at Turruwul Park, Rosebery, Forest Lodge Public School at Alexandria Park, Alexandria and Bourke Street Public School at Ward Park, Surry Hills.
And to top things off our Christmas Charity Partner, DoggieRescue.com, will be present with some adorable dogs for children to meet.
