LibrariesThe Surry Hills Library and Community Centre will soon open, setting new public building sustainability standards and providing a two-floor library and 26-place childcare centre. With Customs House, this adds to our extensive library network, now offering free wireless internet.

Swimming PoolsFacilities at Victoria Park and Andrew Boy Charlton pools havebeen upgraded. Essential repairs are complete at Cook + Phillip Park
Pool and we have improved the St Mary’s forecourt. Plans have been
approved for a stylish redesign of Prince Alfred Park Pool.

To protect our most important public building, Sydney Town Hall, we have begun replacing outdated electrical services and upgrading fire protection and safety. Restoration work is also underway at Glebe, Paddington and Erskineville Town Halls.
Community FacilitiesKings Cross library expansion, community performance space at the Tabernacle, more childcare places and an upgrade of the Mary McDonald Centre in Woolloomooloo are planned. Other upgrades include new lifts at the Ultimo Community Centre and Glebe Town Hall, and air-conditioning at the Pyrmont Community Centre.
