Harmony ParkParks & Open Spaces

We are delivering linked open space, and sporting and recreation facilities to meet the City’s needs over the next 20 years. The Water Police site park at Pyrmont Point, Paddington Reservoir, Orphan School Creek at Forest Lodge/Camperdown and Balfour Street in Chippendale will be significant additions to City open space.

Completed park improvements include

  • Harmony Park, the first new Surry Hills park for years.
  • Four stages of the Glebe Foreshore Walk.
  • Alexandria Park; Barcom Avenue Park, Darlinghurst; Frog Hollow Reserve, Surry Hills; Erskineville Oval; Wentworth Park; Edmund Resch Reserve, Redfern; Tobruk Reserve, Waterloo
  • Smaller parks in Chippendale, Darlinghurst, Forest Lodge, Glebe, Millers Point, Newtown, Redfern, Rosebery, Rushcutters Bay, Surry Hills and Waterloo.

Glebe ForeshoreMajor work is nearing completion at Redfern Park and Oval; Larkin Street Park, Camperdown; Sydney Park; Turruwul Park, Rosebery; and Beare Park, Elizabeth Bay. Plans have been approved for upgrades of Prince Alfred Park and Pool, and Rushcutters Bay Park.

Other upgrades planned include
Renwick Street Playground, Redfern; Foley Park, Glebe; Victoria Park Playground; Observatory Hill; Fitzroy Gardens and Lawrence Hargrave Reserve; and Hyde Park.
