Help at home

We understand how important it may be to maintain your independence but there may be times when some extra help is needed. A number of low-cost or free in-home care services are available for older people who are frail, people with disabilities and their carers. The pages in this section provide information on the City's home-support services such as our home library service and Meals on Wheels as well as services provided by other agencies.

Home and Community Care (HACC) services available to City residents include delivered meals, community transport, social support and community nursing. More information about HACC services can be downloaded below.

Your Local Health District service can also provide more information about health assessments for higher level in-home care packages or temporary and permanent residential care, if the need arises.
