The City's youth programs
We run 6 specific programs for young people aged from 12 to 24 years, which are based in:
- Millers Point
So no matter where you live, work or study within the City of Sydney, a program is available for you to join nearby.
Each program differs slightly from each other but activities typically include:
- weekday drop-in during school term
- sports programs and competitions
- internet access and PlayStation
- arts and crafts
- cooking programs
- music and dance
- life skills and vocational courses.
The programs are designed to give you access to recreational activities and educational workshops.
It's also a great place to meet other young people in your area. Make new friends, learn new skills – but most of all, come along and have fun!
The hours and locations of some of the programs change on different days of the week. More information is available in the table below.
If you're still at school and aged between 12 to 18 years, each program runs school holiday activities for you.
The activities and hours of each program change each holiday period. There are no fees but some holiday activities cost between $5 to $35 per day. A permission form needs to be completed by your parent or guardian before you can take part. More information is available in the downloads section of this page.
Out and about
You can often spot the City's youth workers out and about in the community. You may find them running recreational programs such as basketball at a local court, promoting what's on for young people at a shopping centre or even at your local school running educational workshops.
Advice and support
Sometimes you might find you need help with certain things. We aim to help you address your immediate needs while helping you develop longer term goals, whether it be getting your driver's licence, enrolling in a course or finding a job.
Each program has a Youth Team Leader available to help you when you need it. They can help you deal with education facilities, Centrelink, youth accommodation facilities, provide counselling referrals as well as other support services.
Make an appointment
If you need to talk to your Youth Team Leader it's best to make an appointment first, so they can dedicate the time to help you. They are available Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm. Contact information for each team leader is available below.
