Millers Point employment program
Connecting young people
Enhancing the lives and employment opportunities for young people living in the Millers Point area is the aim of community and business organisations that have come together to form the Millers Point Youth and Employment Partnership.
With representatives from large corporations, government departments, community groups and services, the partnership is a unique example of the corporate sector and community groups working together.
Each member brings a unique mix of skills, experience and contacts, to help young people get connected in the working world.
The partnership involves local residents and 13 community and business organisations, that are based in the Millers Point area to address local issues for young people.
The City of Sydney supports the partnership's goals of creating relationships between companies and young people.
The partnership is made-up of a committee with representatives from each organisation, and a board of directors, which meets four times a year to approve expenses and oversee the business plan. They include:
- The City of Sydney
- Fort Street Primary School
- Housing NSW
- King George V (KGV) Recreation Centre
- Lend Lease
- Millers Point Resident Action Group
- Millers Point Youth Centre
- Sydney Cove Rotary
- Sydney Secondary College, Balmain campus
- The Rocks Chamber of Commerce
