Betty Makin Youth Awards 2014

All information on how to submit a nomination forms part of these terms and conditions of entry. By submitting a nomination it is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

The City of Sydney reserves the right at any time to dismiss any submission from an individual and/or organisation who the City reasonably believes has breached any of the terms and conditions or engaged in any lawful or other improper conduct.

Nominations for young person’s scholarship (individual/group) are open to any young persons aged 12 to 24 years who live, study or work within the City’s local government area who have made a substantial contribution to their community in any of the 3 following areas: contribution to the community, environmental sustainability initiative, creativity, arts and culture.

Nominations for youth workers are open to any person who contributes to the youth services industry within the City’s local government area.

Nominations for police are open to any NSW police officer who makes substantial contribution to young people and or the youth services industry within the City's local government area.

Nominations may be made by a third party or as a self-nomination.

Scholarships will be paid to an auspicing agency. The auspicing agency will be responsible for ensuring moneys are spent to achieve the intended outcomes mentioned in the nomination.

The Betty Makin Youth Awards will be determined solely on the information received on the nomination forms submitted.  It is therefore essential that as much relevant information as possible is provided.

All nominations must be submitted in writing to Betty Makin Awards Coordinator by close of business, Friday 28 February 2014.

The nominations will be judged by 2 external judges and 1 Youth Services staff member from the City of Sydney.

Privacy Protection Notice

The Council of the City of Sydney is collecting personal details of participants submitting an entry in the Betty Makin Youth Awards 2014, in order to select a winner from each category. The intended recipient of the information is the Council of the City of Sydney. While the supply of this information is voluntary, the personal information you provide will enable your participation in the award.

Your personal information may be accessed by you and the Council of the City of Sydney. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Council of the City of Sydney at the address stated in the terms and conditions. The personal information collected will be stored by the Council of the City of Sydney, for the purposes indicated in the terms and conditions. However any personal information may be disclosed as required by law.

At the Awards Night there will be a professional photographer to document the event and these photos may be used in the future to promote youth events, via media outlets such as the City of Sydney's Facebook page, its website or printed promotional material.

Winners of the awards and scholarships may also be publicised on the City’s website.

Complaints about breaches of your privacy must be in writing and addressed to the City's Privacy Officer:
