Living in Harmony Festival
Celebrate our cultural diversity
Our Living in Harmony Festival coincides with Harmony Day (21 March) – the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
It also coincides with the state's 'multicultural month of March' that aims to celebrate, promote and strengthen multiculturalism in NSW, which was inspired by the federal government's Diverse Australia Program. The national program promotes respect, fairness and inclusion, and a sense of belonging for everyone to address issues of cultural, racial and religious intolerance.
Our festival
Together with many community organisations, the City of Sydney provides opportunities for residents and visitors to discover and experience diverse cultures with our festival program in March and April each year including tours that explore Sydney's multicultural heritage, cultural days, talks, workshops and panel discussions.
