Living in Harmony Festival

Living in Harmony Festival

Celebrate our cultural diversity

Our annual Living in Harmony Festival coincides with Harmony Day (21 March) – the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It also coincides with the state's 'multicultural month of March' that aims to celebrate, promote and strengthen diverse communities, which was inspired by the federal government's Diverse Australia Program.

The national program promotes respect, fairness and inclusion, and a sense of belonging for everyone to address issues of cultural, racial and religious intolerance.

Our festival

Together with many community organisations, the City of Sydney proudly provided opportunities for residents and visitors to discover and experience diverse cultures with our Living in Harmony Festival program that included tours, heritage, poetry slam, talks, debate, exhibitions, workshops, cultural celebrations and panel discussions.
