Village business grants

The village business grant provides funds for initiatives and projects that revitalise and enhance local commercial and retail precincts, build capacity in business operators, strengthen local business networks, and enhance diversity, precinct brand and the local area's character.

Through initiatives that encourage and stimulate local business and economic activity, the program will help build strong and sustainable local economies and create employment opportunities in local areas.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must be a not-for-profit organisation that demonstrates either: 

  • strong representation of, engagement with and participation in the local business community in their precinct, or
  • strong support for, and commitment from, business in a precinct or industry sector.

Funding available 

Up to $80,000 can be applied for across the following projects and activities per year: consumer facing marketing initiatives, business capacity building and activities that leverage events. Within the $80,000, applicants can apply for a maximum of $50,000 for project management/administration costs to implement activities from 1 or more of 3 categories.
