Children's programs

No apologies, no excuses!

Our campaign drives home key safety messages about driving around school zones:

  • stay within speed limits
  • never double park
  • Always respect No Stopping and No Parking signs.
Already, 7 local schools have adopted the campaign: Glebe, Ultimo, Forest Lodge, Crown Street, Bourke Street and Fort Street public schools, and St James Primary School in Glebe.

A key message of the campaign is that no-one is exempt from road safety rules, which is being delivered with:

  • large banners attached to school fences visible from the road around drop-off and pick-up areas
  • posters for school premises and noticeboards
  • postcard messages for school newsletters and websites about the dangers.
Everyone must take responsibility and never make exceptions to road safety rules. There are no acceptable excuses or apologies for disobeying road traffic rules and parking signs.

Hold my hand

This campaign reminds people to hold hands with young children when cars are about to keep them safe.

The campaign is delivered with the organisationKids and Traffic. You can download a poster to help promote the campaign, which are available in 15 community languages.
